Quality Policy

 

Atlantic Minerals Limited (AML) provides quality products that satisfy our customer

needs and expectations and contribute to our mutual success.  We continuously 

try to improve our products and capability.

 

 

 

Deposits:
Separate and distinct quarries exist for High Calcium Limestone, Dolomite and Construction Aggregates.  Diamond core drilling is performed ahead of production to assure proper extraction.  Production drill cuttings are monitored by chemical analysis prior to blasting.

 

Physical Testing:
The quarry at Lower Cove has a full service physical testing laboratory on site.  Full time sizing analysis is performed on all products.

Chemical Testing:

Chemical analysis by X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) is performed daily on all production products.  AML uses a Thermo ARL Advant'X sequential XRF spectrometer.  The analysis is performed at the Chemical Laboratory located in Corner Brook.  Results are available on a following day basis.  Routine XRF analysis is performed to determine CaO, MgO, SiO2, Fe2O3, Al2O3, K2O and TiO2.  Sulfur testing is performed periodically by an outside laboratory.

Quality Assurance:
AML is in the process of developing a Quality Assurance System.  The Quality System is an in house quality plan that reflects the International Standard ISO 9001-1994 and Guideline ISO 9004-2.  The quality management system was developed to better satisfy the needs of the customer and to improve management within the company.  The quality system does not intend to qualify for ISO registration.  However, it will adopt ISO 9002 practices to the extent that our ISO Registered Customers can carry out their required supplier audits and attain more than satisfactory results.
